Repair or replace? Here is how we look at it
Age, condition and repair cost decide it, not a sales quota. A ten year old furnace with a failed blower is usually worth repairing. A twenty year old unit with a cracked heat exchanger is not, and it is a safety issue, not just an efficiency one.

A poorly maintained furnace can leak carbon monoxide. Annual service keeps it burning cleanly, catches cracked heat exchangers early, and keeps manufacturer warranties valid. If your CO alarm goes off or you smell gas, call us and your gas utility right away.
Replacing a furnace? It may be time to look at a heat pump
Many Coast homeowners replace an aging furnace with a heat pump and keep the furnace as backup, or drop gas heating entirely. A heat pump uses clean electricity, can reduce household emissions and may lower monthly heating bills through greater efficiency.
